About Geneseo Church of Christ

LOCATION:
13681 North 2150th Avenue, Geneseo, IL 61254

THE CHURCH:
The church building was founded in 1971 just outside the Victorian town of Geneseo, Illinois.

OUR MISSION:
The Geneseo Church of Christ calls everyone to authentic life in Jesus Christ.

The following explains certain aspects of our worship as we worship
in Spirit and Truth.  John 4:24

MUSIC:
All our music is offered up to God in acapella or vocal.
(Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16; Hebrews 13:15)

COMMUNION:
We remember the death of Jesus on the cross for sins of all humanity each Lord's Day.
We call it the "Lord's Supper"  which He instituted the nights before He died.  The unleavened bread is to remember His body and "fruit of the vine".  His blood shed for our sins.
(Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29; Acts 20:7)

COLLECTION:
Each week, we take up a collection on the Lord's Day from the members,
which is used to finance the work and worship of the congregation.
(1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 9:6-7)

INVITATION:
Even though an "invitation" is open to respond to your needs 24/7, we use this time at the end of each service as an opportune time to respond to the gospel and be baptized for the remission of your sins, or request for needs you might have.
(John 3:1-3; Matthew 11:28-30; Mark 16:15-16; Acts 2:38; Galations 3:26-29;
1 Peter 3:18-21; Romans 6:3-7; James 5:16)
